This is a DIGITAL Reproductions of a RARE Trend magazine from the 1950’s “Modes Documents”- 300 Idées & Details pour la Couture Dessinés a Paris.
Last year I saw one of these actual magazines in the wild, for sale at $1100. My issues were purchased at a long gone used magazine shop behind the Port Authority in the 1980’s and I feel they are way too beautiful and important to not to make available to others. So I have had them professionally scanned and have lightly cleaned them up.
Each Volume is a 32 page folio (36 Pages in its entirety) of beautifully illustrated fashion trends for the Paris Couture.
The illustrations on all these Folios are just beautiful, the printing on the originals is amazing at capturing the hand-sketching which is looks like they were created in a combo of pencil and pastel. This comes through clearly on the Digital files.
This is Absolutely Amazing research material for costume designers and all aficionados of 1950s Style. Full of incredible Haute Couture detailing that is beautifully designed. All of these ideas could actually be made up – they were created by someone who clearly had pattern making and construction know how.
Each volume feature Tons of details for unique collars, pockets, embroideries and closures, as well as Dress, Coat and Blouse silhouettes. Evening Wear, Daywear, Bridal, Sleeves and “Sportswear”. There are just a TON of inspiring ideas in each Folio.
